Program FAQs

  • You are paying for the subscription on a month-to-month basis and can cancel your subscription at any time and no further charges will occur.

I value transparency and open communication, and would appreciate you letting me know that you are planning to cancel or pause your subscription. We can talk about it during one of your live sessions.

  • For clients whose pets are starting “absolutely apart” you can expect to be in the program for at least 6 months.

For clients whose pets are starting as “beginning buddies” you can expect to be in the program for at least 3 months.

For clients whose pets are “cautiously coexisting” or are preparing to bring a new pet into the household, your program will be evaluated month-to-month.

  • During each of your live sessions (every 2 weeks or so) you will talk to Naomi about what training exercises and setups you’ll be doing with your pets over the following days. These will be written out in detail in our shared training plan document (in Google Docs - here is an example).

Between live sessions, you will be communicating with Naomi via WhatsApp. There you can ask questions, get feedback on your training videos, and troubleshoot asynchronously via comments! Don’t worry if you aren’t familiar with the tech - there’s a full explainer video to walk you through everything!

At the end of each month, you and Naomi will spend a few minutes of your session doing a progress check and clearly define your goals for the next month.

  • There are two types of training that you’ll do throughout the program:

    1. Individual skill building with each pet: on average, you’ll be working with each pet for around 5 minutes per day, 3-5 times a week

    2. Planned interactions with your pets together - typically, we aim to do these 3-5 times a week during mealtimes (since your pets have to eat anyway 😁) - these usually last between 5 and 20 minutes (depending on how close to coexistence your pets are)

  • No.

As a behavior professional, it is unethical for me to guarantee results of my training programs.

Your pets are sentient beings whose behavior is inherently unpredictable. Just like us, they experience good days and bad days, which affects how they interact with each other.

The ultimate level of coexistence we can achieve is based on a variety of factors, many often out of our control. Because we are dealing with a complex ecosystem of multiple animals - including you!

What I can guarantee is that I will tirelessly work with you to set reasonable expectations of your animals and help you all take the steps to reach them.

  • We will get along splendidly if you:

    • are dedicated to improving your pets’ individual quality of life and are willing to consider the needs of each of your animals AND yourself

    • are ready to collaborate with me as part of your team (because ultimately, you know your pets best) and are willing to try things out and troubleshoot (and to see setbacks as data that inform our next plan)

    • don’t expect a quick fix (we are dealing with at least 3 beings who are learning to live together) - these things take time

    • you see the importance of reinforcing your pets’ appropriate behavior around each other, and working to prevent them rehearsing any undesirable behaviors and you understand that punishing your pets’ inappropriate behaviors towards each other might stop those behaviors in the moment, but could also lead to the animals forming negative associations with each other’s presence - this can make true coexistence difficult

    • don’t take yourself TOO seriously (because I’m kind of a goof 😁)
